Details:
Founded in 1880, the town of Bisbee is a testament to the importance of copper in Arizona's economy. The town is perched on steep hillsides and filled with quaint historic buildings and rich history. Be sure to pack comfortable shoes for walking up and down the hills as you explore the town. The centerpiece of Bisbee is the stately Copper Queen Hotel which is reportedly haunted. The streets are lined with shops, galleries and restaurants, making it a great place to spend a day or more.
Tour companies offer ghost and historic tours. Or stop by the Bisbee Royale (formerly the circa 1918 First Baptist Church) and take in a movie, concert or wine tasting. Nearby, you can don a slicker and helmet to board the underground Queen Mine tour and explore the inner workings of the historic copper mine. Plan to visit for more than just a day as there is much to see and do.
