Kinnikinick Lake


Looking for solitude in the great outdoors? Then Kinnikinick Lake is just the place. This small open country lake is approximately 38 miles from Flagstaff and is relatively easy to get to via paved and gravel Forest Service roads. The lake is perfect for fishing, small motorboats (fishing motors), wildlife watching and kayaking. Wildlife in the area include elk, antelope and bald eagles. The lake is stocked with Rainbow, Brook and Brown Trout and there is also a population of Walleye and Catfish. An Arizona fishing license is required.

The lake is day use only but camping is permitted more than 1 mile from the lakeshore. At 7,000 elevation, Kinnikinick Lake is a perfect spot to escape the summer heat. There are no services nearby, so be sure to pack your picnic lunch and supplies for the trip. The Flagstaff Ranger district for Coconino National Forest can provide more information. rive 30 miles south out of Flagstaff on Forest Highway 3 (Lake Mary Road) and turn east on FR 125. Drive 4 miles to FR 82 and turn southeast 5.5 miles.
