Navajo Nation Museum


The Navajo Nation Museum is located in the tribal headquarters of Window Rock in Northern Arizona. Visitors will first notice the modern architecture that reflects culturally significant designs and patterns. The museum serves not only to educate visitors but to also preserve the rich history of the Dine people for younger generations of the tribe.
Exhibits tell the story of the devastating "Long Walk" and of the return of the Navajo to their lands. Visitors can learn about the culture, language and arts including jewelry and weavings. There is also a library, auditorium, book and gift store and an outdoor amphitheater. 
The museum is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday and Saturday (closed on Sunday.) Admission is free to the public.
