This exclusive adventure includes the ONLY one-day whitewater river trip in the Grand Canyon! We depart early morning and take a scenic drive up Oak Creek Canyon (Sedona departures only) and view Arizona’s highest mountains, the San Francisco Peaks. A light breakfast will be provided. Learn about the surrounding scenery and history from your guide as you travel. The journey even takes you along a short portion of historic Route 66 on the way to Peach Springs. Upon arrival at the Hualapai Nation, you’ll descend along the only access road into Grand Canyon to the banks of the mighty Colorado River. The ride is amazing and you may even encounter wild burros along the way. Your Hualapai river guide will assist you in boarding special motorized rafts and the true adventure begins! This one of a kind trip includes 12 miles of Class II-IV rapids and 20 miles of smooth water below the towering walls of the Grand Canyon. Along the way, you’ll explore a side canyon where magical Travertine Falls awaits. A tasty picnic lunch will be served on the banks of the river while you relax and enjoy the view. After lunch, enjoy a more gentle stretch of the river. Watch for Desert Bighorn Sheep high on the cliffs and take in the amazing scenery along the way. At the rim, take a short time to freshen up and shop in the Hualapai Store before you depart for your hotel. What an unforgettable day!
